NICHOLAS RUPOLO

Nicholas Rupolo is a communications specialist based in Sydney who joined FPF in February 2024 to write columns on newsworthy issues in Australian football. He began writing about the A-League for online websites such as Outside 90, The Roar, and the Daily Football Show when he was 16, breaking stories and setting the A-League, Socceroos, and Matildas news agenda at FTBL and later for the Daily Telegraph. During this period, he notably covered the 2018 FIFA Men’s World Cup, 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, A-League Men and Women, Aussies abroad, and Football Australia’s independence war. In 2020, Nick stepped away from writing about football to be a regional reporter in the NSW Riverina, reporting on the front line of the devastating Lismore floods and working in NSW Parliament House. His passions in football include community ownership models for Australian clubs, governance, and Australia’s men’s and women’s national teams.
