Nizzy's off the mark in Scotland

Josh Nisbet scored his maiden goal in the Scottish Premiership as his Ross County side defeated Apostolos Stamatelopoulos' Motherwell 2-1.

The 25-year-old showcased his composure and technical skill in the 54th minute, latching onto a half-cleared corner on the edge of the box and curling a superb shot into the back of the net.

Nisbet's goal doubled Ross County's lead and proved pivotal. A late Motherwell goal was only a consolation as the Staggies climbed to seventh in the league.

The 2023/24 Johnny Warren Medallist played the full 90 minutes and was also named Player of the Match.

As mentioned, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, who also featured for Motherwell, playing 69 minutes, has not had the greatest of starts to his life in Scotland, scoring only one goal this campaign.

Bos strikes in Belgium

Jordan Bos made an instant impact off the bench this week for KVC Westerlo, scoring their final goal in a commanding 4-0 win over KV Kortrijk in the Belgian Pro League. Entering the game in the 79th minute, the 21-year-old capped off his team's performance with a composed finish in the 90th minute.

After an injury kept him sidelined for five weeks earlier in the season, Bos scored his first goal in just his eighth appearance this season for Westerlo. They are sitting in seventh place as they look to stabilise their season following a difficult start to the campaign.

D'Agostino double powers Viking FK

In the Eliteserien, Nick D’Agostino came off the bench at half-time to inspire Viking FK’s 5-1 victory over Haugesund.

The three-time Socceroo turned the match with a sublime overhead bicycle kick in the 55th minute, turning Lars Jorgen Salvesen’s header into a goal-of-the-season contender that nestled into the bottom corner.

Four minutes later, D’Agostino doubled his tally, calmly heading home Josh Urbancic’s pinpoint cross.

D'Agostino, who spent three months on the sidelines due to injury, has now scored three goals in his last five games, reigniting his form late in the season.

Viking FK now sits third in Norway's top flight. D'Agostino and Gianni Stensness have confirmed their participation in European competition for next season. However, they can still qualify for the UEFA Champions League qualifying stage if they win their next match against Brann SK on the final matchday of the 2024 season.

McGree shines in Boro's goalfest

Riley McGree delivered a crucial assist in Middlesbrough's emphatic 6-2 dismantling of Oxford United.

Coming off the bench in the 75th minute, McGree wasted no time setting up Boro's fifth goal with a perfectly weighted through ball to Scotland's Tommy Conway in the 80th minute. It was McGree's sixth goal contribution in just ten appearances for the Boro this season.

Middlesbrough’s form continues to improve as they climb the EFL Championship table, now just five points adrift of first.

Meanwhile, former Brisbane Roar defender Tom Aldred scored, while Dimitri Petratos and Jason Cummings also featured in the Super Giants win.

Petratos played 90 minutes, and Cummings was utilised off the bench.
