The Thornton Redbacks have secured a comfortable 3-0 win away from home to West Wallsend in NSW's Northern League One, moving up to third in the table as a result.
An energetic start saw both sides have some decent chances to score, but it was the Redbacks who would take the lead.
They pounced on some sloppy play at the back by the Bluebells, with goalkeeper Joel Magnee kicking the ball into a Redbacks attacker to gift the away side the lead after half an hour.
In the second half, a well taken drive across goal five minutes in, followed by a thumping free kick which left Magnee rooted to the spot completed the job for a clinical Thornton side.
The Redbacks hadn't dominated possession for the majority of the match but took their chances when they came.

West Wallsend will now use the bye to re-charge their batteries for a crucial run towards the end of the season, whilst Thornton takes on Wallsend FC in their next league fixture.
